How to Leave a Review
Leaving a review on Rate-MyRental is simple and takes just a few minutes:
- Sign Up : Create a free account with your email or phone number.
- Find Your Property : Search for your rental address or landlord name.
- Rate Your Experience : Give a star rating and write about your experience.
- Submit & Verify : Confirm your review with a quick verification (email and phone confirmation).
- Lease Upload for Low Ratings : If leaving a 1-2 star review, you must upload proof of your lease.
- Done! : Your review will be posted to help future renters.
- Renters may leave a maximum of 2 reviews per year.
Review Guidelines & Rules
To keep Rate-MyRental fair and reliable, we have a few simple rules:
- Be Honest & Respectful : Share truthful experiences without personal attacks.
- No Discrimination : Reviews cannot include hate speech or discriminatory language.
- Stay on Topic : Focus on the rental experience (property condition, landlord behavior, maintenance response, etc.).
- No Personal Information : Do not include names, phone numbers, or other private details.
- Verified Renters Only : Reviews should come from real tenants with valid rental history.
- Review Limits : Each renter may leave up to 2 reviews per year to maintain credibility.
- Lease Verification for Low Ratings : Renters must upload a valid lease agreement to leave a 1 or 2-star review.

Email & Phone Verification
Renters must verify both their email and phone number before posting a review. This ensures that reviews are submitted by real tenants with a valid rental experience.
Lease Upload ( 1-2 Star Reviews)
If a renter leaves a review with a 1 or 2-star rating, they must upload proof of their lease. This helps maintain the credibility of low ratings and provides transparency for future renters.
