Welcome to Rent Verified (“Platform”), a service that allows renters to leave reviews about landlords and rental properties. By using our Platform, you agree to these Terms of Service. These Terms apply separately to Renters (those leaving reviews) and Landlords (those managing properties and responding to reviews).
Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use this Platform.
- Renters must have rented or currently be renting a property before leaving a review.
- Landlords must be the legal property owner or authorized property manager to claim a listing.
Terms of Service for Renters
Renter Responsibilities
- Renters must provide honest and factual reviews based on their personal rental experience.
- Renters agree not to post false, defamatory, misleading, or discriminatory content.
- Reviews should not contain private or personal information (e.g., full names, phone numbers, addresses).
Verification and Review Guidelines
- Renters may be asked to verify their residency using lease agreements, utility bills, or payment proof.
- Renters cannot delete reviews after posting, but they can edit or update them.
- Reviews containing hate speech, discriminatory language, or threats will be removed.
Legal Protections and Liability
- Renters cannot be sued by landlords for leaving an honest review under the Consumer Review Fairness Act (CRFA).
- Rent Verified is not responsible for any disputes that arise between renters and landlords due to reviews.

Landlord Rights and Responsibilities
- Landlords can respond to reviews professionally and provide factual clarifications.
- Landlords cannot request the removal of honest reviews unless they contain false information, defamation, or violate these Terms.
- Landlords must verify ownership of a property before claiming a listing.
Dispute Resolution and Reporting False Reviews
- If a landlord believes a review is false, misleading, or defamatory, they may submit a dispute request with supporting documentation.
- Rent Verified will review disputes within 10 business days and determine if the review should be removed or edited.
- Landlords cannot retaliate against renters for leaving reviews. Any attempts to do so may result in account suspension
Privacy and Data Protection
- Landlords agree not to collect, misuse, or share renter data obtained from this Platform.
- Contacting renters outside of the Platform based on their reviews is strictly prohibited.
General Platform Policies
Platform Rules
- Rent Verified reserves the right to suspend or remove accounts violating these Terms.
- Rent Verified does not guarantee the accuracy of reviews but provides moderation to ensure compliance.
- Users agree that all content posted remains publicly visible unless removed due to a policy violation.
Limitation of Liability
- Rent Verified is a review platform and does not mediate rental disputes. We are not responsible for any legal, financial, or personal consequences resulting from reviews posted on our site.
Updates to These Terms
- Rend Verified reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
